Bear Mountain Fall

It was not a particularly good year for the fall leaves. I did not come away with a brilliant fall foliage image on my foray to Bear Mountain. I got some reflections and some details. The dock has been a favorite subject for many years. This year the muted colors lent a greater sense of serenity. A few weeks later I got an image with snow covered autumn leaves, the subject in another post.

  1. How true. The color this year came, but for so short a time. Literally here one day, and gone the next. Our street trees never did turn red. Bear mountain is a very beautiful place and you captured so many serene and fetching images. The first snow fall? It must be a record that our area was not in amongst all the Eastern areas that got the snow.

    • I am happy that you did not get the first snow for a change. This one was unexpected for this time of year. The leaves were still on the trees causing untold problems. The news reports more than 1 million are without power from downed trees. It didn’t last long, but it sure pruned a lot of trees.

  2. We have so little color here in the Fall – Palm trees just don’t blush. Love the ‘popping berries’ simplistic beauty on a branch.
