Tuthill House Flag

There is a house at the beginning of my block, which was lifted from its foundation and moved to this lot. It’s an old architectural house of one of the founding families in the community. The owners always mount a flag from the porch during the flag holidays. We call it the Tuthill house. One image is film, the other digital.

  1. My street has a house that was moved here from another street in Niagara Falls too. It is a stucco structure now and formally was brick, so I can imagine the repair work necessary. Neighbors who were born at the time homes were built (95 years ago) have told me what a sight it was rolling down our street. Many of those neighbors are now gone. One left for assisted living just last year.

  2. It is always interesting with the story behind houses that have been around some time. I really like the last photo. It shows the house in its surroundings and it’s almost like it’s glowing in the garden.
