Fan Coral

IMG_3565 copyWith all the coral in the deep blue sea, I don’t run across fan coral often. Though I’m still working on my technique, I can recognize a good photo opportunity. I’m glad no one else came along to tear off a piece. This coral is in a well-trafficked area at one of the resorts. Hopefully, the other divers will continue to respect its beauty.

  1. I hope so too. It looks fragile. And beautiful. You’re doing a heck of a good job maintaining your depth these days! 🙂 I recall the bobbing like a cork days that you described. The photos are spectacular. Are you using the same camera/

  2. Up to this point it has been the Canon G11 in a dedicated underwater housing without an external strobe. The G11 was lost. There is a replacement on the way. But for now what I ended up using is a Canon S100 with a dedicated housing. Battery is less and it’s a learning curve again. But for now, I have just about got it after three dives. So on to better pictures again. Glad you like them. And no more bobbing; weight ballast is down to 8lb from 14lb. BCD feels so much lighter.
