Ah! You…

…bastards! You tiptoe around. You do dirty tricks and hope they won’t be found out. You truly are evil bastards! In the miserable pouring rain as we passed on a cold dark night through Maryland on the way home… Colleen was struck by revelation! She has been casually watching gas prices as we traveled this holiday season – NY NJ MD WV OH. Democratic friendly states – about $3.29 and up for gas. West Virginia, $2.75. Ohio, $2.83. Umm… who #$#@#% represents those states in Congress? manchin and jordan. I read how joe is in the pocket of fossil fuel… oh! This is how they pay/BRIBE! joe back for his efforts to stall the democratic agenda. This is pretty blatant “pork.” Payback’s a bitch. Me? It never occurred to me how low ‘special interests’ would go. Price gouge your neighbor especially if they are Democrats. Colleen is simply brilliant. Or you are dumb to think, we would not notice your “stink.”

Amblin’
Without an agenda, we ambled up and down the coast of Maine. I was always a failure at fishing (non sequitur). Lobstermen make a fine living every day? We stop by chance at stores along the road. For instance, this is a weaving store stop. They spin and weave expensive items. We don’t buy. I have my very own spinner and weaver in the car. But, we look. Ideas. The prices are breathtaking for handwoven articles. We just don’t produce in quantity. So, I will never break even. Colleen looks; I get photo ops – free.

Cruising
You are out all day and nothing particulars stands out. Later on, you peruse the shots you took and there are a few that … well, good. I knew we were coming back on the same road… Luckily, the pictures were still there waiting. And then, you find stuff, you were not expecting. Of course. It’s not perfect but….

Fog and Rain
Cool stuff. It’s hard to photograph. Harder, yet, if you are in a moving car. We had a “white knuckle” ride. At the last service check the tech told us the tires were due to be changed. The passenger in the “shotgun” seat had it in her head that we were riding on “slicks.” I was told to get off at each and every exit and get tires, “Right now!” The rain stopped. We got tires two days later. All is at peace with the world again. It was the wind blowing and causing us to “fishtail” down the road. That’s my story and I’m stickin’ with it!
Yeah, I coolly shot out the windshield between the drops whilst driving down the road. Don’t say nothin’!!

Another Day Another Barn
My years in Maine afforded me many pictures of the countryside. I liked to drive the back roads and see spring bloom. These are wildflowers until someone tells me they are weeds. Most likely they are. Ha! I’m not saying. But the color and the season are so cheerful and full of hope. It’s been a while since I was cheered by a sight like this. Remember, the Middle East is desert and barren. Mostly garbage strews my view. I would have accepted a bright blue sky day but you can’t have everything. I did not hop out of the car. I just shot from the open window as we wound our way up the hill to park to see the sheep. Oh yay!

Old Barn
Somewhere there is a series on signs painted on old barns. I just take them where I get them. We actually pulled over to the side for me to get this image. I did not have my long telephoto. So I settled for a medium range shot. I was not that intent that I would hike a mile to get closer. And it’s not really an old sign. Still, it’s old enough to have missing letters. That’s old right?
