Fun

Looks like… we get out and about. An island full of gnomes. Seal. Defibrillator with instructions confusing enough to stop you in your tracks. Rent a bike. Castle. Foreboding sky. Rain, but of course. We saw this couple in the pub with a pitcher each. Alcohol? Oh boy! Soda? I don’t drink that much. What the…?

It’s not the travel or the location. It is the adventure you have with the one you love. We had a good time. We have good times. We have had good times. We will have good times.

Uphill

We use a fitness device to track steps and levels climbed. I’m not naming names. The pictures do not begin to give you the feeling of climbing lots of stairs. There were at least 500 to the top. And, there was no way but to walk. It was a lot of steps. Are you with me? Dumbarton Castle, who knew? I also found out that you can game the fitness device so I consistently did more levels and steps than Colleen. It drove her crazy when we essentially climbed the same levels day after day and my device recorded I had more levels than she.

If you’ve seen one…

If you’ve seen one castle…. They do tend to run into one another, as in, they tend to look similar. There are ruins. Or, there are antiques. The clans of Scotland built castles/mansions. In time, many were donated to the National Trust. It was about lack of funds to maintain the sights. Others are still owned and maintained by the original clan. A Campbell married a Cadbury and the resulting fortune has been beneficial to maintain the amount of gold in the castle. There are a lot of castles. Don’t get me wrong. We don’t have many in the USA.
